Cyrus Pace: jazz

Cyrus Pace, Executive Director of Jefferson Center, brings a unique vision to non-profit management. Having functioned equally well in the business community, as an educator, and as a performer, Cyrus has developed an approach to the cultural arts that ensures the sustainability of quality impact. He has performed with many notable musicians including organist Dr. Lonnie Smith and clarinetist Don Byron. He has self produced three CDs including his latest featuring his brother James on organ. As an educator, he was the Coordinator of Fine Arts for the Roanoke City Public School system where he facilitated a VH1 Save the Music grant for 18 elementary schools, bringing $200,000 worth of instruments into the hands of children. Cyrus Pace worked in the for profit sector in many varied roles including on the trade desk of Michael Dell's private hedge fund, MSD Capital. He also started and operated a music academy upon first returning to Roanoke. Cyrus Pace received a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Roanoke College and a Master's Degree in Jazz Performance from Manhattan School of Music. He is also a certified music teacher in the state of VA.
