What makes Tau Beta Sigma different from other sororities?

Tau Beta Sigma is a band SERVICE sorority. In addition to lifelong friendships, our organization offers members a chance to serve the Virginia Tech musical ensembles, campus, and the surrounding community. To us, Sisterhood is more than just friendship--it's music, service, dependability, honesty, hard work, giving 110%, trust, generosity, leadership, and becoming the best person that you can be.

What can Tau Beta Sigma offer me?

Tau Beta Sigma offers many opportunities for personal and professional growth including leadership development, organizational and teamwork skills, access to a national professional network, educational opportunities through workshops and forums at District and National conventions, and friendships that last a lifetime.

Who's eligible for membership in Tau Beta Sigma?

Anyone who has been in a Virginia Tech academically accredited instrumental ensemble for at least one semester (including current ensembles) is eligible for membership. First-semester freshman are now eligible to become membership candidates. In addition, candidates must have a minimum overall Q.C.A. of 2.20 and demonstrate unusually good character, outstanding leadership potential, and a passion for service.
