USAF American Clarinet Quartet to Perform at Virginia Tech
The USAF American Clarinet Quartet will span more than 250 years of musical tradition when they appear at Virginia Tech?s Squires Recital Salon for a free performance on March 16, 2006, at 8 p.m. The quartet?s repertoire includes a wide variety of chamber works and popular pieces.
The group?s leader, Master Sergeant Jennifer Lambert, said the quartet?s versatility comes from the educational background and experience of the four members. They have studied with members of major orchestras and have attended some of the leading music schools in the country, including the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, Virginia Tech, Arizona State University and Indiana University.
The quartet is part of the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band, a 60-member band based at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia, and performs Air Force community relations music programs at concert halls, hospitals, retirement homes, churches, and theaters throughout the United States. The USAF American Clarinet Quartet also presents music clinics at the elementary, secondary, and collegiate levels.
