Fife

A small flute with a narrower bore, thus producing a higher, more piercing sound than a flute. Fifes are generally used in military bands, such as a fife and drum corps, they have six finger holes, and from one to six keys. Its range is from D in the treble clef to D two octaves above the treble clef.
