F-flat

The lowered fourth tone (subdominant). This pitch has no solfeggio representation because the actual pitch is the same as the mediant or third note (E) in the fixed do system. However, the note name F-flat is necessary in certain instances such as the key of C-flat major where F-flat is the fourth note (subdominant), or A-flat minor, where F-flat is the sixth note (submediant).
