Conical bore
(KAH-ni-kul bor)

A term defining those wind instruments that are constructed with a conical-shaped tube (that is a tube that has a gentle taper along its entire length) as opposed to a cylindrical shaped tube. The conical bore instruments would include the cornet, the tuba and the French horn.
