Policy on Class Attendance

Regular, on-time attendance is expected, and missed quizzes or deadlines may not be made up without proof of an actual emergency. All assignments may, however, be turned in early.
For class meetings when no Quiz is scheduled and no assignment is due, 5 points will be earned for on-time attendance.
For class meetings taught by a guest instructor, attendance is mandatory. Five points will be awarded for on-time attendance. Twenty points will be deducted in the event of absence.
There will be no class the Friday of the VMEA Conference. Tours by Music Department Ensembles are excused absenses as long as the instructor is informed and arrangements for makeups are made in advance. Absenses for other university or professional reasons may or may not be excused. Contact the instructor in advance.
