CHAMBER SINGERS

The Chamber Singers is a select mixed ensemble that performs choral literature from the Renaissance and Baroque, as well as contemporary works. This ensemble has been featured at conventions of the Virginia Music Teachers Association, Virginia Music Educators Association, and American Choral Directors Association. Recent performances include Handel’s Acis and Galatea and Britten’s Noye’s Fludde with Opera Roanoke, Handel’s Dixit Dominus with the Kansas City Baroque Consortium, and Beethoven’s Mass in C with the New River Valley Symphony Orchestra (NRVS). They recently sang on a master class with Dutch ensemble QUINK and also performed under American composer and conductor Eric Whitacre. Upcoming engagements include Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem and Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem with the NRVS. They will also join American Opera Theater for Handel’s Messiah and Charpentier’s David et Jonathas, which will be presented at Georgetown University’s Davis Center and the Brooklyn Academy of Music. The Chamber Singers will sing at the 2007 Virginia Music Educators Association State Convention, as well as the Washington National Cathedral.
