Music that has the representative sound and style of the native music from Latin American (and Caribbean) countries containing strong African influences. These are all countries that have Latin-derived languages. Latin music (or Latin American music) is a very broad and inclusive term, and tends to be dance music. It would include such popular styles as the bossa-nova, cha-cha, merengue, reggae, rhumba, salsa, samba, tango, and others.
